Family Festival Fun

Parents joined us for a pot luck supper and a good time.  The children sang songs, and parents had an opportunity to meet some of the other parents in their child's class. The food was delicious, and eveyone got to try some cultural foods that families shared with us.

Fun at the Children's Museum!

Our 2-3 year old class had fun eating and saving cereal boxes in order to help their teacher build a special house for them to enjoy.  Co-operation to achieve a common goal gave them a sense of satisfaction.

A visit from a naturalist gave the children first-hand knowledge about snakes and other animals.  Feeling the skins and shells helped them understand the different textures that make up the wide variety of animal coverings.  Books helped to enhance the experience.

Girls enjoy playing with the blocks, too.  It gives them a sense of power to be able to build something they can play with.

Water Play is fun.  It enables children to be creative and to learn about water animals and the sensory feeling of the water. Sharing with  friends is also an enjoyable experience. Socializing and learning how to negotiate sharing is very important.

The two year olds enjoy reading together wherever they are.  They made good use of their own space.
